Milwaukee Asia
A regional rollout for one of the most demanding catalogs in industrial e-commerce — Milwaukee Tools across Asia-Pacific.
The short story, before the long one.
Milwaukee Tool — the "Ferrari of power tools" — is a global leader in professional power tools.
- Magento 2 migration from WooCommerce, with thousands of SKUs and historical orders
- Multi-store setup for Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Mongolia, Korea and Vietnam
- Region-specific languages, currencies, payment methods and tax rules
What they needed.
Milwaukee Tool — the "Ferrari of power tools" — is a global leader in professional power tools. Their Asia-Pacific online presence had been a basic WooCommerce catalogue: hard to scale, hard to localise, and far below the brand's standing in physical channels. The brief: a robust e-commerce platform that matches Milwaukee's market dominance, serves multiple Asian markets with localised experiences, and supports both B2C and B2B operations.
The work, in detail.
Phased rollout
We rolled out the new platform market by market: starting with Japan as the lighthouse, then Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Mongolia, Korea and Vietnam. Each market got localised currency, payments, tax handling and regional content while sharing the same operational backbone.
Hyvä on Japan first
In September 2023, Milwaukee Japan transitioned to the Hyvä theme. Top-tier Lighthouse scores, faster TTFB, dramatically smaller JS payloads. The Hyvä rollout is now the template for further rollouts.
B2B mechanics
Dealers and trade buyers see different pricing from retail customers via customer-group profiles. A retail user might see $200 for a tool; a dealer in the same group sees $180 at the right step of the order flow. Reorder lists, RFQ, order-approval workflows and Net-30 terms close the gap with what enterprise B2B buyers expect.
Mobile POS
The mPOS app keeps physical stores in lock-step with the storefront. Inventory syncs live; customer profiles span online and in-store. The app keeps working without a connection and syncs when it reconnects, with reports giving channel-level visibility.
Long-term partnership
We have supported Milwaukee Tool Asia from the initial WooCommerce-to-Magento migration through every subsequent feature wave. Most engagements run on a quarterly cadence with a ranked backlog and weekly demos.
