E-commerce development in Australia, from a team three hours away.
E-commerce development in Australia with seven Australian engagements behind it, the first in 2014. Hanoi is GMT+7 — three hours behind Sydney in AEST — so your afternoon is our working day, a question asked after lunch is answered before you leave, and nothing waits a full cycle for a reply.
The hard part of hiring an offshore e-commerce team is usually not skill, it is latency. A European or Latin American partner is eight to fifteen hours out from Sydney, which turns every clarification into a lost day and every deploy into an overnight risk. Hanoi is three hours behind Sydney in AEST and four during daylight saving. That is the whole argument, and it is arithmetic rather than a promise.
The Australian work goes back to 2014. Toys Paradise (toys and collectibles — LEGO, Pokémon, Disney) and Tragic Beautiful (alternative fashion) that year. Gasweld Tools in 2015, a Magento Enterprise upgrade with ERP integration for an industrial-tools business, and Mat Shop Australia the same year, commercial and industrial matting across Australia and New Zealand. Family Action's Australian charity platform recovered and rebuilt in 2017. TTI (Techtronic Industries) since 2016 across multiple platforms, with TTI Australia one of those regional operations.
The flagship is Endota Spa, from 2018 to 2022 — Australia's largest day-spa network, founded in 2000, 100+ spas, 180+ products distributed to 11 countries. A Shopify DTC storefront wired to a custom service-booking app, with bookings and purchases under one membership wallet, localised content for every spa location, and the customer-service workflow automated behind it. Online revenue rose 31% and booking conversion 24%.
Behind the Australian roster sits the multi-market experience that makes AU/NZ straightforward: Milwaukee across nine Asia-Pacific markets with region-specific currencies, payment methods and tax rules, and MASCOT Workwear across 20+ markets on Magento over SAP.
On payments and fulfilment we bring an integration layer that is already built and running: Klarna, MobilePay and Adyen, AltaPay for a Danish subscription brand, Stripe for Milwaukee, and SAP-backed pricing, stock and fulfilment logic across MASCOT's 20+ markets and TTI's 18 regional sites. Tell us which providers your market runs on and we will scope the work against that experience.
Six things that actually change day to day.
Three hours, not fifteen
GMT+7 against Sydney's GMT+10. Your afternoon is our afternoon. Standups, code review and deploys happen inside the same working day rather than across a handoff.
An Australian track record, not one logo
Seven engagements since 2014 — Toys Paradise, Tragic Beautiful, Gasweld Tools, Mat Shop Australia, Family Action, TTI Australia and Endota Spa. Endota alone: 100+ locations, +31% online revenue, +24% booking conversion.

Gold and Platinum support run 09:00–22:00 GMT+7 — 12:00 to 01:00 AEST. That covers the Australian afternoon and evening in full; Silver is 09:00–18:00 GMT+7.
Compare support plans →Multi-market and multi-currency
Nine APAC markets for Milwaukee, 20+ for MASCOT, 13 country sites for Goodiebox. AU/NZ with separate pricing, tax and fulfilment logic is well-trodden ground.
Magento or Shopify Plus, chosen on your numbers
Certified on Adobe Commerce and a Shopify Plus partner, so the platform recommendation is not a function of what we happen to sell.
How we choose a platform →Written handover, not tribal knowledge
Architecture decisions, runbooks and deployment steps documented in your repository as we go. The test of a remote partner is whether your team can operate the thing without us on the call.
How a remote engagement runs across three hours.
Your morning, our early afternoon
You brief and prioritise while we are already at desks. Nothing sits in a queue overnight waiting for a timezone to catch up.
Build and review in the overlap
Pull requests raised and reviewed inside your working day, so feedback lands while the context is still fresh for both sides.
Deploy before your evening
Releases go out with your team still online to verify, rather than landing unattended at 3am Sydney time.
Escalation you can reach
On Gold and Platinum, incident cover runs to 01:00 AEST — your whole trading afternoon and evening peak.
Verifiable, and all from published work.
Endota figures are from our published case study. The timezone and support-window numbers are arithmetic from our office hours and the support-plan tiers — check them.
The stack.
Common questions.
Do you actually work with Australian clients?
Since 2014, across seven engagements: Toys Paradise and Tragic Beautiful (2014), Gasweld Tools and Mat Shop Australia (2015), TTI Australia as part of a global TTI relationship from 2016, Family Action's Australian charity platform (2017), and Endota Spa from 2018 to 2022 — Australia's largest day-spa network. Endota has a published case study; ask us about any of the others.
Are you a Magento agency in Australia, or a Shopify Plus agency in Australia?
Neither, and it matters that we say so plainly. We are a Hanoi team, not a local agency with a Sydney office. What we offer instead is a three-hour timezone gap rather than a fifteen-hour one, senior certified engineers at rates well below Australian agency day rates, and a named Australian reference in Endota Spa. If you need people who can be in the room next week, hire locally — we will say so. If you want depth on Adobe Commerce and Shopify Plus at a rate you can sustain for years, that is the trade.
How does the timezone work in practice?
Hanoi is GMT+7 and Sydney is GMT+10 in AEST, GMT+11 in AEDT — so we are three or four hours behind you. A standard Hanoi day of 09:00–18:00 is 12:00–21:00 AEST, which covers your entire afternoon and runs past your close. If you need your morning covered too, we run a shifted start; ask on the call and we will map it against your actual hours rather than quoting a slogan.
Can you cover Australian business hours for support?
Gold and Platinum support windows are 09:00–22:00 GMT+7, which is 12:00–01:00 AEST — the Australian afternoon, evening and late trading peak. Silver is 09:00–18:00 GMT+7. If you need cover from 09:00 AEST we should talk about a shifted rota rather than pretend the standard window reaches it.
Magento or Shopify Plus for an Australian brand?
It depends on catalog complexity and whether you need custom checkout or B2B, not on where you are. We are certified on Adobe Commerce and a Shopify Plus partner, so we have no incentive to steer you. Both appear in the Australian roster: Endota went to Shopify because bookings and memberships mattered more than catalog depth, while Gasweld Tools was a Magento Enterprise upgrade because the ERP integration was the hard part.
Do we hire a team or buy a project?
Either. A fixed-scope build puts the delivery risk on us; a dedicated team gives you capacity you direct, at a monthly rate per role. Australian brands often start with a project and keep a smaller squad afterwards.
Where to next.
Book a call in your afternoon.
Pick a time between noon and 6pm AEST and you will get people who are mid-workday, not half-asleep. We'll tell you honestly whether we're the right fit.
